A Stockbroker is a qualified, registered and regulated professional who buys and sells stocks and derivatives in the secondary market on the behalf of their clients (investors, institutions, etc). All transactions carried out in the stock exchange are done through brokers only. Stockbrokers can be classified into two categories depending on whether they provide advice or not.

1. Full Service Stockbroker – Offers advice on buying and selling securities, makes recommendations, provides research and compiles tailored investment plans. They typically charge a higher brokerage fee as a result of the advice and other services offered. Accredited advisers are also available for options, warrants and futures.
